Hi all. Due to circumstances I've had reason to quickly buy a cheap car, and ended up purchasing a 51 plate Fabia 1.4 MPI in a lovely creamy yellow colour, for the princely sum of 200 English pounds. It rattles ( timing chain ), stutters now and then ( crank sensor ?), needs a few items of trim and a bit of tlc and is rather basic, but after the hour long drive home, I think it's the best £200 I may have spent in a long time!!!

After buying the obligatory Haynes book of words, I intend to remedy all the issues and get it back to how Mr Skoda intended, after which I may even have a play. If anyone recognises my nickname, they may know that I have been known to weld the odd spanner or two, but if it doesn't have a dizzy & carb, I tend to get a bit lost, so I suspect I'll be frequenting the technical areas a fair bit!!  So apologies in advance for the stupid questions, go easy on me...
