Warning lights

Featured Replies

Over the last week , a couple of times the EPC, Engine symbol and ESP light comes on and the car seems like it’s in limp mode.

Just before the lights come on the engine power seems sluggish like it’s misfiring and juddering

car is a 62 reg  Yeti 1.2  with 63k miles on the clock

any advice would be appreciated

How long have you had it and do you know whether it has had the No.3 plug lead insulation modification done?

As said the No.3 Lead needs checking if ever upgraded,

and when were the spark plugs changed?

The Fault Codes if any need read.  A proper diagnosis needs doing.

Ive only had the car 3 years was bought used from skoda dealer... not sure if it has had the number 3 plug lead modification done ... how can I tell

Look for a convoluted plastic cover over the lead.
However I think your best bet will be getting it into a garage that can read and UNDERSTAND the fault codes that will be present.

the car had its major service last July at the main dealer  which is when I believe the spark plugs were replaced

I will check to see if the lead has ever been upgraded and get it into the skoda dealer to get it checked

I don’t think these are the modified leads .. can only see a thicker piece of rubber around the top part of the leads not near heat shield

Best check that the spark plugs were changed, was there not an invoice showing parts supplied?

Believing a Technician does things is risky, you want to know they are if you are paying for a Major Service @ Main Dealerships or anywhere.

£279 or more and not much getting done is not a good thing...

Anything further to report? Wife’s car is having similar issues currently

@AussieRunningman

What is your wifes car, and is it the EPC light coming on or some other issue?

Yes wife’s car. EZpC, engine warning light and car shuddering. I haven’t driven it yet to concur. Nearly 78k kms. Petrol 2012 1.8L

You need to have the Fault Codes read if there are any.  Has it had servicing & New Spark Plugs or the plugs checked?

Hopefully not the Timing Chain Tensioner Issue.

The thread on that is pinned at the top of the Octavia Mk2 section.

EPC and engine lights gone out tonight when I started the engine. Error code is P0302, cylinder 2 misfiring.

im guessing this is a spark plug or leads?

was due for plugs replacement last service I think (60k? I think was last service)
