Disconnecting the Wiring from the Lock Unit.

Featured Replies

Afternoon All..

Working through the fault finding on the dreaded drivers door central locking fault. What is the secret to disconnecting the wiring from the door lock. Its the last set of wires for me to check and for the life of me I can't remove the plug.

Cheers.

I actually cant remember the connector type on that, but its not a complicated procedure..

The connector has a horse shoe sliding clip arrangement that slides to one side and pushes the connector block away from the module in the one operation. It does not detatch from the connector plug.

This should help you fill in the gaps - thanks to Yellowcar for the how to. -

The other end of the loom in the door goes to the actual lock and is a straightforward lock tag type clip the same as used on most of the engine loom plugs.

You can see the locking wedge the plug rides over in this thread -

Thanks, that was the connector I was on about, I would love to meet the person who designed some of the awkward positions they put these things in. Up to now I have continuity through the whole door loom, so these are the last to check. I will not be beaten...!!!
