Hi guys 

I bought a 56 Fabia 1.9tdi and all of a sudden it's got a leak there's drips coming from the left hand rear of the engine bay and the first I was aware was red warning light coming on. Any ideas please 

Which warning light?

Water level/engine temp light but the temp gauge was reading normal. The expansion tank was nearly empty

Through a dealer bought in October so out of warranty just had a mechanic friend who thinks it's the thermostat and that's causing a slight leak 

 

Any of you lovely people had problems with an air lock in cooling system. Reason I ask. Is 1only small amount of water return to expansion tank when squeezed both hoses 2 I drained to change stat drained system then a minute or so later after squeezed hoses another litre or so came out please help tia
