Problem is that it reports a right tail light issue. The right tail light works fine, but oddly, the left reversing light doesn't! Whenever I put my lights on I am getting a warning light on the dash. Everything else is OK.

Feels like a byte 18 issue assuming the wiring and bulbs are in good condition.

 

Had this always been an issue?

 

Has the BCM been changed or any chance it's had a none zero value set in byte 18?

 

I'd suggest using VCP or ODIS-e to check the lighting config (VCDS can't do this) assuming the wiring/bulbs are fine. Someone might also suggest a byte 18 value but generally changing it causes more problems rather than less given the stock value is 00.

 

Swindon is probably a little far from me but if you're over this way I can take a look.

Thanks mate, original problem caused by some re-coding by a friend, whose laptop buggered up just afterwards so we couldn't see the original coding. That lost me my wipers which I managed to get back. To cut a long story short(ish), after more playing and trawling through coding for other similar vehicles on various forums, I've got to the present state. Have checked the fuses and bulbs and they are OK so can only assume it's the tail end (excuse the pun) of the coding issues I've had.
