are you using a genuine cable?

phone is attached via usb cable and i think its a genuine cable but not 100% i had so many at 1 point and threw loads away.i have bluetooth switched on aswell as seen some vids on youtube which say leave it on.

Im using a short USB C cable purchased on the internet. I got 5 for abou £4! Works great and cable is only about 8” long.

Try switching bluetooth off. Its pointless anyway if connected by cable.

Genuine cable, install Android Auto on your phone.

I use a p20 pro, only the original cable works, no idea why. Every other one provides either an unreliable or no connection at all

I have the mate 10 pro and I did use the original cable. Might give it another go to see if recent android updates have made a difference.

When you connect the usb cable, the phone normally asks you to select a mode. I'm never sure which one to choose. Which do you use Fran?

Thanks Fran57 and Cd1yat for saying your Huawei phones work. Tried connecting my mate 10 pro again and it worked!
