Upgrade + transplant

Featured Replies

So I'm pondering with the idea of upgrading to a newer FL O2 but I will miss my super well equipped PFL.... Therefore I thought about simply transplanting all the nice bits over to whatever FL O2 I can find... Does it sound daft?

In theory, as long as I go for an Elegance trim, I should be able to transfer whatever I want, right? all the wiring and stuff should be there, right? :) What about the lower levels like ambiente...?

Coming to think about it, it should be a plug and play process, except maybe the heated rear leather seats.... Does the elegance come with the right cable harness to fit heated rear seats and controls for those in the armrest?

Has anyone tried doing this before?

I don't know the detail but I recall a post recently saying the dashboard and possibly some of the equipment changed with the facelift.

I wouldn't transplant everything - definitely not the entire Dash... maybe things like seats, door handles (I have the illuminated ones), roof lighting (ones I have from superb), RLS, auto switch, etc...

Maybe try to find a very well equipped FL, the L & K had all the bells and whistle's, more then the elegance does, the 2 things mine is missing is the culumbus headunit and the rear heated seats, apart from that everything and mean everything as is there.

Can hardly find any... The Greenline were popular here amongst the FL and about 80% of them are estate and I don't want that ...
