new to me warning

Featured Replies

Hi, I wondered If anyones had this before, can't see anything in Skoda book on it, came home last night after 60 odd mile trip from sis-in-laws pulled on drive turned off engine then I saw on the panel in between the two dials             Warning then 3 _ _ _ underneath , then to the right below MPH.

Anyone help on that one please

temp spot on

oil ok

Thanks

Is the screen where you set a speed warning. When you exceed the speed you set, an alert is sounded. That’s it. It’s nothing more sinister than that.

Nothing to worry about, that just lets you set a warning if the car goes above a certain speed. Just use the scroll wheel to move onto the next display.

Is this not the (top) speed warning that you can set so that the car bleeps when you exceed it?

If you're scrolling through the driving menu on the multi-function steering wheel then that'll be what it is.

Edit* now realising I am obviously the slowest of the buses..

Hi Wangarai, Not sure if I did touch anything for it to come on, be nice to find out more, now i've found on page 37, Speed regulating system / speed limiter. No idea if I touched  something on the cruise control stalk, might be handy to know how to set speeds I find it hard to keep to limit it creeps up a bit quick, It's set in the eco mode.

edit, OK found the pages in manual, can you set it at 30 mph or 70 mph, or do you guys not bother, lol think It would please my wife If it was set

found pages

It's not a speed limiter, just a warning beep. If you have the multifunction steering wheel (with buttons on it) then someone bumped the right scroll wheel to change the display.

Thought there was a really bad echo on this thread. Always pays to read the earlier comments.:wall:

Once set it at 70mph but found it even more annoying than Lane Assist so deactivated it. Short squeeze on the loud pedal and that damn beep. I know it's there for a good reason but no-one buys a car capable of 155mph (petrol) and keeps below 70mph, not even retired police officers.:happy:

Oh shy one, I'll place my wife in the passenger seat for a few hours next to you, bet you'd put it back on, lol. All stems from years ago I nipped past a slow car, went up to 35mph a fortnight later letter came through the door from the Chorley whatever it's called, £60 + 3 points, funny thing it was addressed to my wife, it was in her name.

I normally receive my wife's speeding photo's in the post as both our cars are registered to me (also her using the bus lane and not paying to park in car park fines). I really am the saint in our household. She once collected 3 points on a Friday and 3 points 2 days later, at which point I pleaded with her to SLOW DOWN. That was back in 2013 and thankfully she has taken the hint.

Just been on a speed awareness course just reminds you of all the things you should be doing correctly so you are driving safely. Have been using the speed limiter more and i think i am using less fuel. Have not set the speed warning tone but have seen it when strolling through the options Joe

Got my speed warning set at 75mph. It helps considerably with fuel consumption over a long trip.

I'm happy to just set the cruise control to 70 MPH, which gives an actual speed of 66 MPH. On a round trip of 66 miles, that returns 53 MPG (1.4 Tsi DSG)
