Car Play - using sat nav at same time as radio

Featured Replies

Hi - does anyone else have an issue with car play and the radio?  Recently if I’ve used Apple Maps, the radio is on at first but then cuts out.  I thought this might be due to using the navigation, but on other occasions I’ve plugged in my phone to charge it (thus activating car play), then switched to radio, but the radio still cuts out every couple of minutes.  Very distracting!!

I've never had any such issues with Android Auto, and I guess CarPlay works in a similar manner...

I experienced a similar problem but the other way round with the sat nav cutting out. Changed the USB cable and all was well.

Geoff.

I've had none of these issues despite CarPlay stuttering intermittently when playing music/playing podcasts/during phone-calls etc.

Possibly occasionally - but I tend to find that switching across to Radio using the buttons either side of the display, and then back to Smartlink, clears it. Just to check, do you have the automatic moving between DAB and FM enabled? DAB-only can result in the radio cutting out.
