Plate under back bumper

Featured Replies

Hello, what is the part called that is under the back bumper? See attached photo of damage I did whilst having a brainless moment.

Obviously would like to sort as economically as possible, wondered if anyone has any advice on getting this part?

Thanks very much in advance

Skoda call that the rear bumper "spoiler" on their parts database. The one you need is dependent on the number of exhaust pipes and whether or not you have PDC at the rear.

From the look of the bumper in your photo though, I'd really recommend that you take it off and see what is going on behind it. Plastic bumpers flex back into shape after a hit and can hide damage. You want this right in case you and any family get rear ended....

Heres a link to a online ETKA part page for the Superb rear bumper (not that it is for a 2014 - don't know what year your car is):

That looks like it would pop back in to the bumper:cool: after you check for any worse damage underneath.

The spoiler looks as though it has split around the parking sensor, fit only for the bin.

I'd imagine the smashed rear light cluster should get priority if funds are tight.

The bumper has popped off along its line with the rear wing too, that's more than a glancing blow, whatever you've hit you've hit it hard. Hard enough to get it properly checked.

What's your insurance excess? Probably going to be the cheapest and easiest fix...

Thanks to those of you who came back with some good info. Got the rear light replacement and a rear diffuser/spoiler on order, we’ve found a local body work chap spray and for that and check for further damage whilst he has it apart. Cheers guys.
