Featured Replies

Anyone successfully implemented ‘needle sweep’ on a 1.0 SEL version?

Yes, done using 18.9 VCDS

  1. 17 Instrument
  2. Coding -> Function 10
  3. Byte 1
  4. Enable bit 0

Thanks irfant, I thought I could drive this VCDS cable business but it seems I'm thwarted....

What cable are you using?

VCDS HEX-V2 USB - brand new and 18.9.1. software.

Very interesting error message with up to date cable

The first screenshot looks like your trying to recode the BCM (address 09). Modern BCM's no longer use the lcode and instead need parameters uploading (VCDS can't do this) or adaption channels setting.

The second screenshot looks like your instrument cluster doesn't support staging via adaption channel. Not all do I'm afraid.

Neither appear to be following the instructions mentioned earlier in the thread though?

I'll give it another go with screenshots all the way......

Sorted now.....seems the whole shooting match was being further complicated for me by the (previously unknown) need to run VCDS on my laptop as 'Administrator'....!
