What's causing this paint imperfection? (pics)

Featured Replies

I was washing the car last weekend and noticed loads of orangey-brown spots. I tried to clay bar them off, but it didn't seem to help.

(sorry for large pics, but figured it would make the dots easier to see)

Any idea what could cause this, and what I can do to rectify it?

Is the vehicle parked near railways, construction work, airfield or industrial site or similar?

As said, it's very likely to be fallout - possibly due to the areas it's parked/left in.

Often these can bond to the clearcoat, which can sometimes make it difficult to remove with clay alone. As recommended, I'd try some Korrosol to remove.

Construction site, yes.

So is it caused by metal particles landing on the paint?

Thanks for the suggestions. Will get hold of some fallout remover.

I use both Bilt Hamber Korrosol (for bodywork) and Auto Wheels on the... wheels. IIRCC BH state Korrosol is slightly weaker than AW, though I'm happy to be corrected on this.

I recently bought some Reigning Iron from EZ Car Care when I ran out of BH AW as they had a heavily discounted promo going. EZCC state you can use their product on both the bodywork and wheels, though I've only used it on the wheels.

They currently have a 'up to 70% off' promo running this weekend.

Thanks! Any idea how big the "Pro" version is? Seems weird that they give volumes for the 500ml and 5L, but not the Pro.

1 Litre.
