Fabia 1.4 AUA relay box layout?

Featured Replies

Dear Skoda fans,

Fabia mk1, 1.4 16V AUA automatic

2002

43.000 miles, full service history

This is my very first ever post here, I bought my Skoda a month ago. My girlfriend was driving it, and while standing at a red light it just stopped. It fired up straight after. Seems fine since then, accelerates and stops as it should without problems. However an automatic shouldn't do that ever, something is giving way definitely.

I heard that the fuel pump relay can produce similar symptoms. My problem is I have no idea which one is it. Anybody has a relay box layout for the "AUA" engine? I have seen many relay box diagrams, but none specific to this engine.

I just don't wish to strip the lower dash only to see relays I have no clue about.

Thank you for the help everyone.

Fuel pump relay on your car should be in position 4; right hand one of top row (assuming your car was built in or after July 2001).

It would be good to get your car scanned with VCDS if swapping out that relay doesn't change things. I should think there are several other possible problems that might give a similar symptom, some of which might not throw a fault light, at least initially.

If you search the site for 'VCDS owners map' you may find that there's a member close to you who might scan it for a beer or two; or consider investing in VCDS lite, which is basically just the cost of a cable to connect car to laptop (£20 or less).

Thanks for a quick reply Wino :)

I even heard about "fuel feed relay" as well...I found a topic about this here, is this layout works for the AUA 16V as well? As I read this is for the MPI version?.

There is such a 'fuel feed relay' on your car, and it is in position 9 as per that diagram, but as you can see, the diagram is for May 2004 onward, so shouldn't be trusted as a whole for your car.

The fuel feed relay just gives a 'pre-prime' type effect of running the fuel pump for a few seconds when the driver's door is first opened; as such it seems unlikely to be relevant to what you have experienced.

These diagrams are copyright info, but if you photograph what you have in your relay panel once you get there, I'll gladly tell you what each relay is doing, if I can find out.  You'll probably only find a few, certainly not all 15.
