ps - screwed up my average mpg that was up to 45 mpg in temps up to 20 DegC

Update

German Autobahn I presume. Only 83kph slower than my Octavia. Mine felt a bit nervous even on 186mph (300kph) rated summer tyres. Won't be trying again anytime soon still cleaning my BOXERS.

Takes me about 15 seconds to reach 200kph in 4th gear. Off back to the friendlier Octavia section.

What has really impressed me over the past few days is the mid range grunt. Playing in a way not possible on the M9 any more, it really stomps from 70 to 120.

 

While my good lady's 1.4 Octy is very adequate, I really love the extra grunt from a big dirty diesel.

 

While over the ton takes a fair bit of concentration, the sweet spot is around 80-90.

 

And today's lesson learned is - don't use hand cream in the morning then go for a play on the autobahn. Sweaty palms on a slippy "leather" steering wheel don't work well after a few miles

My buddy said the same after a visit to Germany. I think he said "Reeperbahn" rather than "autobahn" though...
