Took a while to wind the Bear up. And was a bit twitchy on Hi profile winter tyres.

But, hey-ho, that's a marker.

ps - screwed up my average mpg that was up to 45 mpg in temps up to 20 DegC

Update

German Autobahn I presume. Only 83kph slower than my Octavia. Mine felt a bit nervous even on 186mph (300kph) rated summer tyres. Won't be trying again anytime soon still cleaning my BOXERS.:bandit:

This is a KODIAQ thread. Take your pumped up Octavia to the Other Side

ps - you're spot on with the Autobahn bit though

pps - I shudder when I think of what I did many moons ago with a V70R. Not on an autobahn though :D

ppps - you are ****in' kidding - 175 in an Octavia!

Takes me about 15 seconds to reach 200kph in 4th gear. Off back to the friendlier Octavia section.:o

What has really impressed me over the past few days is the mid range grunt. Playing in a way not possible on the M9 any more, it really stomps from 70 to 120.

While my good lady's 1.4 Octy is very adequate, I really love the extra grunt from a big dirty diesel.

While over the ton takes a fair bit of concentration, the sweet spot is around 80-90.

And today's lesson learned is - don't use hand cream in the morning then go for a play on the autobahn. Sweaty palms on a slippy "leather" steering wheel don't work well after a few miles
