Door(s)/hood/tailgate open.see Vehicle status in the MFD

Featured Replies

Hello,

Yesterday I came home with my second car and saw that the lights on the right both forward and back were on. I thought my lady had forgotten the car open or not, or the switch of lights was not on automatic mode.
But everything was fine - the vehicle was locked and the switch of lights was on auto mode.

I checked that all the doors were closed, including the bonnet and the gas-

Has anyone encountered this problem?

@Shlomo12 - Well, my Octy (Mk1 Elegance) doesn't detect "bonnet open" or "fuel cover open" with the "door open" light. Nor does it have auto lights. It does have a "parking light" function where, if you set and leave an indicator on with the engine running, it operates the sidelights on that side when you switch off.

Any use? Even if just by pointing out that you're posting in the wrong forum?

Not if you don't know which of the 3 different marks of Octavia you own, no.

You need to be asking in the MK3 Octavia as yours is a 2014 model, however it does sound like the indicator stalk was left in the right indicator position and when the ignition switched off this then puts the "parking" (side lights) on for the position the indicator was left in, it's a standard VAG feature since at least the 1980's
