Hello - just bought a Superb - sept 2018

Hi all

username is anglefire I’ve used it for years and yes it was spelt wrong and still is!

Real name is Mark and I answer to either!

I’ve just bought a 6month old Superb Le Exec estate and am enjoying it so far. I’ve come from a Bmw 530d estate so 258bhp to 150 is a bit odd. And rear to front drive.

I shall post in technical later as I do have something that I would really like to do - and that is turn off the hateful stop/start system. Did it on the bmw which has a config option to start up in the disabled mode but would still work if pressed.

Welcome Mark, interesting move from the 6 cyclinder Beemer but Superb holds its own even compared something like that.  Stop/start is the most frustrating part of the car!  Can be deactivated alright with VCDS.  I never got round to it you’ll get some advice in the main section on this.

Hello Make, welcome to briskoda , good to have you with us , as Superb170 wrote , it can be done .

A warm welcome to the Forum Mark !  I try and switch mine off as part of the start up drill each time.  Forget sometimes though.

Its definitely not as quick - but I can live with that. Handling is not as sharp - but I will get used to it.

Using about 25% less fuel based on this weeks commute but will know for sure when I fill up next - Monday or Tuesday probably.

I’m trying but I’ve been so used to it not being on its hard. And it’s truly hateful.
