Jerky gear changes plus warning lights

Featured Replies

The DSG gearbox on my 2013 Yeti 1.2 has become very jerky when accelerating, mainly in the 30 to 50mph region. It feels like it doesn't want to change down and tries to be in two gears at once. It seems much better (almnost normal) if I select Sport instead of Drive. This has been getting gradually worse for a couple of weeks. Until today there have been no warning lights. This morning the EPC and ESC/ASR lights stayed on and the jerkiness was much worse - virtually undrivable. I turned the ignition off and on again and the lights cleared and the jerkiness had improved back to its previous just-bearable level.

Has anyone got any ideas before I commit it to my local dealership?

welcome.

Check in the Spare Tyre Well to see if there is a sticker showing if Service Campaign '34H5' was carried out on the DQ200 DSG.

Some 2013-2015 required a Software Update.

Check with Skoda UK Customer Services to see if it was done or due, or with a Main Dealership.

If it has Main Dealership Servicing since 2017 it should have been done if required.

Thanks, Skoffski. The link comes back with "No recalls for this VIN", but I'll talk to my local dealership tomorrow. The car has been serviced by an independent garage since 2016.

Visited my local dealership this morning. Despite the "No recalls for this VIN" on the VAG website, they admit there is what they describe as a "recall" outstanding for the car for gearbox software. I guess they haven't been sufficiently indoctrinated that it is a campaign, not a recall. :)

It goes in next week, so here's hoping it fixes the problem.

Sadly i think too late.

Possibly already a leak from the Mechatronic Control Unit.

It was a Service Campaign and has '34H5' never appeared on the VIN checker,

the Service Campaign before that '34F7' from 2009-2012/13 did.

But then that was a World Wide Recall with a Service Campaign only in Europe and a bit of a campaign in the UK that the DVLA / DfT / Vosa (DVSA) nerver bothered if all registered keepers found out or not.

So with '34F5', if a car was not into a main dealership after late 2016 owners / registered keepers might never find out about '34H5',

there are even Skoda Approved Used Cars that have '34H5' outstanding.
