Estate Load Height

Featured Replies

Hi all, just a quick question. I've got a Kodiaq that I'm perfectly happy with but my dog has developed a great reluctance to jump into the boot. I think he must have hurt or scared himself some how. I'm hoping he'll get over it but if he doesn't then a swap to a Superb Estate seems a possibility. Can anyone tell me the height of the boot door sill? And is the floor flat to the door or is it lower?

Hi,

The load height is 600mm (23.62"), (Personnal measuring @ rear bumber upper face, with the standard chassis, not with the lowered Sport chassis).

The floor is something like 50-70mm (1.97-2.76") lower (personal assessement based on daily use) .

I'm sure you've considered these things, but have you thought about getting a ramp for the Kodiaq (even in the short term) while he/she builds her confidence again? Feeding in the boot, making it a great place to be etc, until jumping in or out (or even just using the ramp) is not a scary thing?

You may well have been through all this already and it hasn't worked, but if not - it may be worth trying before replacing the car.

As a dog-obsessive, I fully admire and endorse your commitment to your dog's welfare though!

Thanks guys, good info and ideas. I'll persevere with the Kodiaq for a while yet but it's good to have a plan B.

The ramp is effectively much cheaper than switching the Kodiaq for a Superb... ;)
