Petrol engine - oil consumption?

Featured Replies

Just got a low oil warning and stuck in about .7 of a litre. My old petrol 1.4tsi Passat used to use 1l between services. Just wondering if this is normal for these Act engines?

Normal that you might need to put in oil in any engine and none in others.

So is your car new, or how many miles / km and when was the oil last checked and you know that there was enough oil in?

0.7 litres might not be enough if there was a low oil level warning so best do a 'Check at operating temperature' to see there is enough oil in.

30,000km, 11 months since last oil change. Have it booked in for a service. Bought the car used in January.

Never had to top mine up.

700ml in 30,000km does not sound alarming to be honest. However, I would not let any engine on the same oil for that amount of mileage regardless of VW's service regime.

How many km has it done and what year it is.

30,000km, late 2015. Full Skoda SH, three oil changes to date.

How many km since the last service? Is it only 10k km since the last service then or less.
