Had an airbag warning light appear on my dashboard, but also at the same time, the interior light has stopped operating when opening the drivers door. It's not the bulb as it illuminates when the passenger door is opened. 

 

Any suggestions as to where to start looking to remedy this??

Check the wiring between the car door and the body inside the rubber tube :-)

I did wonder if this was a good place to start. 

Just wanted a second opinion. Lol. Will check when back from Easter visiting family up north. Hope it's just a damaged wire to solder and then get the fault cleared.

Sure enough. Pulled the rubber between car and door back:-

 

 

I guess the airbag warning will still show on my dash until it is reset with VCDS??

 

My interior light still doesn't appear to work with the drivers door opening and closing though. 

 

Will see what VCDS shows I guess. Unless anyone can shed some light on the lack of the interior light working lol. 

Airbag light cleared by a kind Chap from the MK2 vRS Facebook group. 

 

The issue with the door and interior light seems to have been remedied by lubricating the lock mechanism. Fingers crossed. :-)
