Having problems with the middle passenger air vent been using the air con today but wasn't blowing very good out of the middle vent the other vents were working fine,could it be that the air con needs regasing any thoughts please.

If the aircon needs regassing that would mean the temperature out of ALL the vents wouldn't be as cold as usual so that's unlikely to be the cause.

 

The aircon on Auto changes the airflow from vents automatically, so what you felt could well be normal behaviour - if it thinks there is sufficient cooling from the outer vents then the airflow from the middle vents will be much lower.

Hi petroldave the middle drivers side vent was blowing has normal so were the two side vents the other vent i mentioned was hardly blowing i had the golf before the Octavia never had this problem with the Golf

Temperatures set differently for the driver and passengers?

My wife and I have very different temperature settings on the air con - in all the VAG cars we've had with climate control (3 Audis plus this Skoda) it's very noticeable that the two inner vents have very different airflow but the two outer vents are very similar; so I agree with J.R. that it's possibly due to different temperature settings on the driver and passenger sides.

I actually had exactly the same thing today on mine while playing around with the aircon settings.

 

If you leave it on auto nearly all of the cooling air comes out of the eye level fascia vents, the centre one blowing equal to the outer ones, I had been running so wanted the cold on my feet so pressed the relevant button, cold feet and very little out of the fascia vents, then I pressed what looked like the button for the fascia vents as well (you can select them all if you wish) and got cold air from the outer ones but nothing from the centre ones, then I realised that my tired old eyes could not properly read the pictograms and it must have been the button for the screen demist vents, this blows air on the screen and also the side fascia vents because that hose also carries air to the side window vents but nothing comes out the centre fascia vent.

 

To the OP, try the aircon in the AUTO setting with both temp controls set to the same, if you still have the problem then try some Flappaerobics!
