Kodiaq Towbar

Featured Replies

Has anyone had an aftermarket towbar/electrics fittid to their Kodiaq...and if so ...was it a diy fitment or professional ?

Cheers  YB

Search for “towbar” in this forum - there has been quite a discussion.

As mentioned, there are lots of threads on Kodiaq towbars, the search function will reveal most of them.

Try the one pinned to the top of the Kodiaq forum as a good starting point...

Hi

I fitted a Witter fixed towball, dedicated wiring harnass and professionally fitted. All works brilliantly well.

Hi yogibear57. Did you get a towbar fitted ? Reason im asking is my skoda dealer has said any aftermarket towbar with dedicated or universal electrics will not be covered by any warranty as there have been problems with some kodiaqs

. It has to be vw group approved therefore £2500 .

Hi yogibear57.

Goodluck receiving a reply to that - the user only ever posted 4 times, the last being in 2019 !

£2500 for a towbar? :D      Yeh right.  Which Skoda dealer told you that? name and shame.  If you have a towbar fitted by a specialist, it should be covered by their own or the towbar manufacturers warranty .

Regarding problems with some Kodiaqs? Correct, that's because they're not certified to tow. As others have said, look at posts in the forum. It only effects some manual 2.0tdi (150bhp) diesels.

Hi Scot5

Thanks for the reply

I was told that some models have to have radiators modified and a Peterborough dealer told me one guy got a towbar with dedicated electrics fitted to his Kodiak and it messed up the electrics and had a bill of £3k to sort it out😱
