Is this normal ? Rear Window Isolation Switch

Featured Replies

So my daughter turned 2 and she has just discovered you can put the window down in the back with clever switches

I thought ,no problems there's a switch to sort this.

Tbh I have never used it since owning the car and the window switch assembly was replaced under warranty about 6 months back as 1 touch up and down on the drivers window failed

But this surely isn't the way it operates

Is this a simple  , pull the unit out and re-mount ?

Is she really able to reach the window switch? (assuming she sits rear facing)

Nope.. Not normal.. Looks like a new switch unit is required..

Ditto. That is no way correct! It might need a new unit, or, that unit might need to be refitted correctly

If I recall the switch on the drivers door disables the rear door switches but the separate window switches in the drivers door still operate the rear windows.

I must go out and play to see if they do!

That is correct.

My MY19 now has two separate switches to disable the rear windows and also operate child locks, although the wording in the handbook isn’t particularly clear (surprise, surprise )

  • 2 weeks later...

This is the new switch module with two switches to disable the rear windows and operate the child locks.
