What to buy 1.4tsi, 1.8tsi or 2.0 tsi

Featured Replies

Looking for a second hand Octavia auto and not sure which to buy. Got £4k tops to spend so it will probably be a 2008 to 2011 car for that money. Any recommendations as to what to buy or what to avoid?

I've had a 1.4 tsi auto estate (Jan 2010 reg) for the past 6 years and it's been a good, reliable car, and powerful enough to get into gaps in the outside lane of the motorway. (At least the size of gap that I'd go for). Now at 76k miles and I'm trading it in. Didn't have bluetooth / phone integration so I fitted an Android unit. But there are experts in the forum who can probably help with other options.

Can't speak for the other models. (Maybe the 1.8 can have issues with the cam chain though?)

Thanks for that information.

Where abouts are you based?

I might be interested buying off you if you're close enough to where I live (croydon).

I've no idea of the value of course

I'm in Birmingham, so a bit of a way off.

I've also got a 1.4 tsi dsg estate and love it. Plenty of poke good economy and relaxing to drive.
