MFD2 SECURITY CODE

Featured Replies

Morning guys I have a 2007 octy tfsi vrs fitted with an mfd2 sat nav radio, bought the car july 2015 and have never had to put in the security code.

took car out yesterday and the radio was fine.stopped off and when I restarted the car the starter motor made a bit of a strange noise ,the car started but then radio was asking for security code ,so in guessing the starter motor gave a small power surge? surprise surprise I don't have the security code.i have disconnected the battery and am now waiting to see if that works.

further on from this ever since I have had the car it has had a battery drain that after about ten days the car is dead, battery is less than 6 months old,it has been to my local skoda dealer several times but no faults show!!!!! I have read that in some cases it can be the radio that is at fault can anyone help please. thanks.

On the Bolero, if it asks for the code after being shut down by low battery, then: Switch off the radio. Switch off the ignition. Switch on the ignition then switch on the radio again. This forces the radio to get the code from the display electronics.

I realise yours is a different radio but the procedure might be the same.
