Octy II vRS TDi

Featured Replies

Had confirmation from a dealer this morning the 170 TDi would find it's way into the Octy II vRS.

Now that I could stomach

Any idea on prices and equipment levels? :D

Chris

I think the dealers are still speculating on this at the moment.

Yeah no official announcements on the Skoda web site so was just seeing if there was any other info available....

Well, my local Nissan dealer diddnt even know when the 06 model would be available to order. 2 days after I asked him someone on the Z forum had got theirs!

Goes to show the manufacturers dont tell the dealers very much at all.

In my experience salesmen don't normally have a very good grasp of what's going on and all of them haven't got a clue about other brands and their competition.

I've never met a car salesman who has not lied/told me incorrect info due to lack of knowledge.

Was interersting to hear that they're expecting it too though - adds weight to the argument that it will happen.

i recon it will cost near £20k.

The PD140 sport costs £1500 more than the 2.0 petrol sport , and while thats not exactly the same situation as the VRS I'd expect a premium of at least £1000 on top for a diesel VRS , so probably £18500 for the hatch and £19350 for the estate

Whats the price difference between the Golf GTi and GTTDi ?

Its going to take a lot of miles to make a diesel worthwhile IMHO.

Please don't tar us all with the same brush!!!!!:thumbdwn:

The GTTDI is only the 140PS engine so it's not a fair comparison.

As for the amount of miles to make it worthwhile , if you use 30mpg for the petrol and 45 for the diesel , and 90p and 95p per litre then the diesel will save you 4 pence per mile.

That's 25000 miles before you show a profit on the diesel which I do in about 10 months.

Plus , don't forget that the resale value of the diesel will be slightly higher as well , though not by the full

New Golf GT TDI is getting the 170bhp jobbie (details in this weeks Auto Express http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/previews/65989/golf_gt_tdi.html).... costs £1500 less that the GTI but just looks like a standard Golf - Can't see the point myself, might as well get the 140bhp one and get a remap.

Same with any potential Octy VRS 2.0TDI, as commented by yourself I think you'll be looking at £18.5k for the hatch, might as well get the sport get a remap and save £3-4k as well

Looks like maybe this is another good idea theory, like the 130 & 150 Diesel engines. The 150 is not worth the extra pennies over the 130. :)
