Dashcam nightmare

Featured Replies

Fitted a Nextbase 412 with hardwire kit.

Tried it with the ignition on to check the operation before tucking the wires away. All seems OK.

Now, after refitting everything including the glove box and clip with the engine running, the camera is non functional. If I touch the power button, it lights up the left side buttons, that's it.

The dashcam fuse is inline with the power wire as instructed. The earth is connected to the trim screw securely.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

If you left the ignition on has the battery dropped to not power it or turned off power to where it is getting its feed from?

Does the 'trim screw' attach to the steel of the body? Some 'trim screws' only go into a steel clip attached to the plastic trim.

Good point. I just followed instructions on another thread. That's where he attached the earth so I went with that. I'll see if changing it works. Cheers.

Do you have a electrical test meter to check if the earth terminal has continuity to earth?

You were right. Works fine now.

I've located the earth on a more suitable bolt.
