Rear Keyless door handles

Featured Replies

I was thinking lately does anyone think it would be possible to retrofit rear keyless door handles? I find this the worst thing about keyless in Superb, that they couldn't add just 2 more handles... I mean even Insignia has them in rear....

Not sure how you can retrofit something that doesn’t exist?

Funny... I find it clever, that there's no key less on rear door handles. At least, it allows me to check that the car is really locked. Otherwise, with front door handle, it's impossible or it can last a looooooong time...

I too find it unnecessary to have it on the rear doors.

Though I seldom bother to check its locked by pulling them because the mirrors folded in tells me all is well and the car locked.

You're right... I often look at the mirror in "warm conditions". But during winter, I disable the mirror folding to prevent damages if there's frost... Then I appreciate rear door handles not beeing equiped with Key less... sometimes... ;)

Ah but the Insignia also has plastic as rear quarter windows, in the back doors.  You really shouldn't be seeking inspiration from Opel/Vauxhall/GM

I really miss this on my Superb. Top of the range L&K, and no keyless on the rear doors. My 2015 Touareg had it, and I got used to unlocking the car to put something on the back seat by just pulling the rear door handle.

VW and Audi have both on all doors...

Just listen to electric motors when lock happens or enable audit-able lock confirmation (sounds a special speaker and does "pep").

Rear doors have same handles as front right? So why would it be impossible to retrofit? Keyless entry only has sensor on doors... There is no special mechanism

@JackySi  The lock confirmation using horn could be an idea, but IMHO, it sounds like the 80s-fashion for me :speechless:... Addtionally, the more it's discrete, the more comfortable I feel.

Actually its not using horn but external speaker that does really soft sound. I have it activated.

Thanks for the info, I didn't catch that.

For those interested.......
