Skoda Superb 2011 engine start

Featured Replies

Hello

i have been valeting my Skoda today  but now have an ignition problem,

i removed the silicone ashtray liner in front of the gear lever (AUTO) and an alarm sounded and i'm not sure if this was a coincidence, i had all the doors open and all windows down but now when i try to start the car the instrument lights flash and the needles stutter around the dial,

i was able to lock and unlock the car and close 3 of the windows but now the car is locked with the exception of front passenger door,

no water was used as i only vacuumed the inside,

anyone able to help ?

Flat battery from having doors open and interiors lights on for a long time ?

Yeah sounds like flat battery, was very surprised once when I had radio playing waiting for wife that a message came up to start car after a short period of time

As above, you've flattened your battery.

The beeping was the car trying to warn you.

thanks everyone, trickle charged the battery for 24 hours and all is back to normal,

feeling a little embarrassed now, what a NUMPTY i am

Easily done, especially if the battery is a little tired.

It's probably an indication that the battery is on its way out - it should be OK with the doors open for many many hours.

I'd start researcing and buying a replacement battery otherwise eventually it will let you down when you are not in the comfort of your own home!

With a  2011 Superb, I don't think you have to worry about the complication of stop/start - might be wrong!!
