Front subframe removal

Hi peeps, 

   I have a skoda octavia 1.9tdi 2006 and I need to remove the front subframe as when I was charging the suspension Bush one of the bolts holding it broke. I've tried a couple of things I.e bolt extractiors and a bit of heat didn't want to much heat as it's Ali that didnt work, so my ? is do I need to support the engine from above with a engine support or not, if not do I just have to remove the 10 bolts.
