DPF Direct Cleaner Spray.

Featured Replies

Anyone used one of these numerous dpf cleaning sprays? Did it make a difference, did you have trouble removing the pressure sensor.. I was about to give it a go but I felt I was putting to much pressure on the nut that holds the sensor in place,.I didn't want to cause damage. Has anybody any experience on this?

So anyway,.I went ahead and tapped the spanner with a rubber mallet and after a few goes the nut released,.not really much effort at-all at-all... So I removed the sensor, cleaned that with MAF cleaner(contact/switch cleaner would do)... Then went ahead and unloaded a whole can of dpf cleaner spray at intervals into the DPF.. after the can was empty I secured the sensor back in the hole and let the car idle for 10min's, then I took it for a good run up the motorway at a steady speed(120k)for about 30 min's... Lots of smoke initially before I hit the motorway,.then didn't notice much after that. I will update everyone after this weekend as I'll be driving a lot of urban all weekend....

My issue was the car was regenerating much to often for my liking,.the DPF light would come on on about 1 in 4 of these regens,.but would never stay on long... Anyway it was a bit of a concern..

Ive done this a few times every 9 months or so as my car is on 173,000 (preventable maintenance).

I always leave it soak at least an hour with cold engine. I also blast some mr.muscle into the turbo while the heated o2 sensor is out.

Then as you did go for brisk drive.

Ive done this for past 3 years. DPF still regens as it should with no problems.

So will I just bend a wee hose connected to Mr Muscle can through that sensor hole in my pic towards the turbo?

Yep that’s it.
