Smartlink advise

Featured Replies

So new to this had my mot other day at Skoda Liverpool asked about smart link and was told it was just shy of 200 pounds to get code and update software.

I remember someone saying they payed 138 but guy was convinced it was 195 or 199

any help would be great and I have a feeling if I say yes I’ll be paying for the staff takaway

140 to 160 seems to be the going rate. Maybe give a couple of other dealers a call (even if far away) and tell yours the price you can get it elsewhere. Tell some story of 'willing to get it done while on a trip' or something. See if they will budge.

I’ve been looking at this too. £150 is about the going rate. Skoda have to pay for the licenses so hence the cost. You can get it a touch cheaper by sending your head unit away which I don’t want to do. Trying to decide if it’s worth the money as you can do most things through Bluetooth anyway

Yeh I would pay 150 but 199 seems stupid wish I could by the licence myself hate being forced to have a middle man.

because he was talking about the labour costs to update it saying I’d be looking about 225 for the whole job.

There is no labour as such. Its a 20 min job. Ring other dealers

Yeh I will do I’ll post back my findings

It’s £122 for the part and 15-20 mins fitting to make no more than £137. That’s what Skoda North Wales charge so make them match that :)
