Service schedule and service book

Featured Replies

Hi all

New to the Skoda world and have just bought a Rapid Spaceback 1.2 TSI Auto 2017

What should be on the 20,000 / 24 month service for this vehicle?

Also, we didn't get a service book with the stamps, just a print out. Should we have a service book with the car or is the print out the 'new way'?

Cheers

Ronners

Welcome.

No Service Books any more,

so you have them print out the Sheet of lies, the health report, invoice etc.

The first Variable / Flexible service @ 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months will be an Oil & Filter change.

Looking and seeing and reporting, Free Wash & Vacuum. A body inspection should be done and put on the system.

Should have the diagnostics checked, a road test, the Pollen Filter replaced, at the very least checked.

So much the same as a 1 year / 372 day first service,

so not much more than that other than for the Pollen Filter.

@ 3 years the Brake Fluid is due a change.

No Service schedule, recommendations or guidelines on the DSG.

The Spark Plugs would be at the 2nd Major Service usually not at 20,000 miles.

The Air Filter should be checked at 20,000 miles and might need replaced and not waiting until 30,000 or 40,000.

Thanks Skoffski

In your opinion the 2nd service does not need spark plugs and air filter, even though Skoda publishes this on their website.

The invoice details oil and pollen, not road test or inspection.

The website before it was changed recently was the Fixed Price Servicing on cars from 3- 10 year old.

So that would mean the Major service would be at 4 year old.

The 'replacement of parts' was stated as 'if required by service schedule' or such rubbish which meant people were paying the same price regardless of if

The Air Filter, Spark plugs, Fuel Filter etc were changed.

Be careful not to be ripped off.  Pay for what gets done and not for what someone decides does not need doing, and they dont even look to see.

Like open a Airbox.
