Bonnet Seal

Featured Replies

I'm sure someone on here has done a bonnet seal mod to their Superb Mk3 to essentially join the left & right seals (in a kind of hoop shape) on the underside of the bonnet to prevent crud entering the engine bay as much as it does.

However, I can't for the life of me find it!

Can some kind peep put me in the right direction?

Thanks @BriskodaJeff that was the idea, but I thought someone had shown how they added the additional seal(s) and where they purchased from etc.

Not to worry - I'll just have to tinker until I nail it! I snap a few pics & bung them on here.

BTW when you want to clean that up, you can remove the heat blanket...

...then give it a spray down with the hose and let it dry in the sun for a day (or if it's just dusty vacuum it), to clean it. Then get some cheap black spray paint in a can and paint it black again.  Works perfectly. I touched up mine since it came from the factory with white (what looked like salts) stains around the edges from the water testing phase I suppose.

And I saw you saw this, but just linking it here if someone finds this post first...

While we are under the bonnet (hood) its worth while cleaning out the crud from under the rubber mouldings near the windscreen

I got loads of it out this morning whilst cleaning the car and in future will just be another weekly task to do.
