Hi All

Bought my '52 Red octavia vRS in Jan, very happy with it aside from the cold starts! Blaming crap fuel for the time being, will swap to BP Ultimate I think.

Part exed my Mitsi Fto, so a bit of a change and a big boot!

Does anyone have any recommendations as to whether I should fit a manual boost controller? Or has anyone fitted one? Bit of a cheaper option than an ECU remap, but an increased chance of detonation no doubt. :eek:

Hi Mate

Welcome to this great forum.

Good choice of car , but then I was wanting an FTO a while ago myself.

With problems with your cold start I would possibly reccomed replacing the temp sensor as this could aid your starting.

I am sure you will get many opinions about your boost controller , but then I like the remap option.

I know that i have posted in 3-4 other topics the photos of my modified console (in various stages) but i think it's proper to have them all in one topic plus informations for the step by step procedure. Maybe another member will read it and try to modify his or someone can find via Google Search the photos and have an inspiration. I have done an Upgrade in mine and in the future i will make another one modification so let's take everything from the beginning. Note: Some photos are from internet

I have a 12 year old Skoda Octavia mk3 TSI 1.4 with 155000 miles on the clock. It has JUST scraped through its MOT after repeated emissions failures due to carbon buildup. The mechanic has told me he doesn't want to see the car back next year as it won't pass again and cleaning the carbon deposit off wouldn't be worth it given the age and value of the car. I've read a lot about Walnut Blasting to remove carbon buildup. Would it be worth it in my case or is the mechanic right, and I should just

At 60k and 5 and a half years old I don't think mines has had plugs yet (had it two years). Does anyone have recommendations on plugs (part numbers etc) and what the standard plugs fitted by Skoda are? I fitted some on my last car which was a Leon Cupra 290 with the EA888 and they were NGK Platinum I believe. From memory they were the same part number as the original Seat/VW ones but I can't fully remember. Can I do the same here in terms of getting the right NGK ones from say Eurocarparts an
