Hi all,I have to replace the drivers door window regulator on my 2005 Octavia this weekend,what's the best and most recommended,the one with the complete panel or I've seen just the regulator parts available,has anyone recommendations....poss Euro car part or similar ????

Bought a replacement regulator from euro car parts complete with panel for about £45 but what a horrible job, who ever thought up the idea to rivet the panel on and the the stupid plastic fittings that go through the glass are something else. 

One tip I would give though is don't use the genuine rivets or the ones that come with the panel unless you've got arm like the hulk, I used slightly smaller rivets put a small washer under them.

I bought a complete panel on ebay, swapped the motor over and it's been good so far. I couldn't get the oversized rivets to break, they just pulled through the metal so my panel is now screwed on with some 16mm self tappers for now, been on a couple of months and no issues so far...

Brother in law just bought a tidy Octavia II. Sadly the only problem is the passenger front window regulator has gone :( Shame they are all riveted in. But these things are sent to try us. I am thinking though to use rivetnuts or nutserts (whatever you prefer to call them) Instead of messing about with rivets.
