Limp mode

Featured Replies

Yesterday one of the turbo hose got loose and I pulled immediately over. Clicked it back in place and drove about half a mile and then the glow plug light start flashing. At home I tried resetting the error but again I drove about half a mile and then the flashing light came back on. What can it be?

It’s a Skoda Fabia 2010 greenline 1.4 tdi

A detected and not cleared (even if diagnosed and corrected) engine fault. Apparently not just a boost leak though.

Error code is p0403 meaning something about egr. But why does that happen just because the hose got loose

Probably as the hose got loose, the car went in to limp mode and all the stuff usually blasted away via the exhaust, got stuck inside the engine. You may need to re-set/clear the code and give the car a decent drive. I would be reluctant to swap the ERG until I was sure it was this as they get blocked and can be cleaned or perhaps clear up with a good drive but if you change it, the fault may just return if it was not the issue but a symptom.

Found the issue. When the hose came off the gasket broke. So I got a new gasket and now the car is running fine
