vRS '12 - Unconnected cable after front impact, what is it??

Featured Replies

Morning,

I had a small front side impact last week-end which bent the bonnet slightly and the bumper, which were put back pretty much to normal.

As some plastic broke between the radiator and the bumper, I checked if there were any loose broken bits rattling in the bumper.

I came across this loose cable but I can't understand what it is for and whether it should be any any concerns!

Would any of you have any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Think it's the Outside temperature sensor.  I don't know if it should be clipped in somewhere or if it just hangs loose.

Thanks!

There is an empty metal "hole" at the back of the bumper and in front of the radiator, where it could fit/clip.

If it is the temperature sensor, it could well be where it should be, no?

Could be, see if it will clip in

One of my colleague has a MK2 vRS petrol so I could confirm that it is the temperature sensor even if it is not exactly in the same location. I did not manage to clip it but it definitely goes there.

Will need to try harder when I get back home and don't wear a work shirt :)

Thanks for your help!
