Is the octavia discontinued?

Featured Replies

i read in auto express that skoda were to dump the octavia and superb and to make a model which is a bit of both ie bigger than the octavia and smaller than the superb. they also had a photo of it as well. Is this true and if it is ill just have to buy 2nd hand in the future

i read in [b']auto express[/b]

 says it all really!

However Vauxhall did the same with the Carlton and the Senator so it could be possible that Skoda ditch both models in favour of a more direct rival for the Vectra and Mondeo.

The more you think about it, the more it makes sense as the Passat is above the Mondeo/Vectra in terms of size and image so having a VAG car in that bracket can only be a good thing.

Auto Exress are notorious for knocking up photoshopped pictures, with headlines like "Perodua to build mid engined supercar!"; we can exclusively reveal that bosses at the Malaysian manufacturer are thinking about perhaps one day there my be a possibility of a 400 BHP V12 supercar, based on the Kelisa chassis...

Yeah i read that too. Started a thread on it here back in Jan

OK Don't get too excited

Octy will be around for at least 5 years yet. A new Superb is also on it's way.

So suspect this won't be for some time.

Also I think we can safely say there may be 2 new furbys in that time - each will be larger.

Think about it.

Take Ford. The Escort was their original small car. The Escort equivelent (focus) is bigger than the Cortina. The Cortina Replacement (Mondeo) is bigger than the Granada.

Take VW - The Polo is bigger than the original golf.

Explains it all.
