?

Do you mean no Chain issues since it has a belt?

Tempting price. & Not a crazy price if all is good with it.

Who is selling it?

What warranty, is it 12 months?

One owner or 1 registered keeper, was it a Motability Lease car?   The V5 shows the Keepers name for the 3 or 4 years and not 'Motability' so best ask.

Re Skoda Service History.

So what does that show as done?

Is that Fixed Servicing & a Oil / Filter change in 2016,17, 18 & now 2019?

Brake fluid change in 2018?

Pollen Filter changed twice.

Air filter & Spark plugs changed at 4 years.

If it was a DSG what would need asking is,

Was Service Campaign '34H5' needed and done on the DQ200 DSG since 2017?

Large'ish independent local dealer with a 6 month warranty.  one owner who put a private plate on it then sold to the dealer back to original plate.  Its manual.  As far as far as the service history  goes i'll see that when i get there.

thanks

Best buy on condition.

Check tyres, are they all 4 matching or 2 pairs, inspect the brake discs to see no expense there soon.

Check the windscreen looking at the sun just to see not too bad for tiny tiny stone chips even on a low mileage car.

With a Skoda Service History you could buy a Skoda Warranty in 6 months time.

what kind of discount do you think is poss ie 11yr old octavia 97000mls average condition as trade in?.  I'm pretty green at all of this btw.

cheers

Maybe a better chance of paying less not trading in.

Maybe they can punt your car.

Maybe they will offer less on the trade in than WBAC knowing they are on a sure thing.

So check what WBAC is quoting.

Check what Evans Halshaw or Arnold Clark are offering on your car, they have online checkers.

Your Octavia could maybe sell on here for a £4 Freedom advert.

Maybe PM me who is selling and i might have an idea about what like they are to deal with.

Cars looks great and a good Dealer.

Let us know how it goes.

There might well be a buyer for your Octavia on here if you are not getting that good an offer on your Octavia.

They will know at the dealers if they want to sell your car or it is going off to auction.

There are other cars about and newer but different specs and age and not the low miles, so choices.

Thanks you've been really helpfull..........i'm crap with cars, good at research but crap with cars!.  price wise it seems good what do you think?.

i've checked those cars out.......all euro5

Parkers do a valuation service showing trade, private and retail prices and should be a good guide.

It costs a few pounds to get an accurate quote relative to mileage etc but its daily or weekly so several cars can be valued.

Another wee tip would be to ask the dealer to show you their check on the car you're buying.  They all do it, I think it's experian they use, shows up any issues such as repaired insurance write off, ownership history, recent auction and forecourt prices for similar cars sold, etc.  That's what they're really doing when they go to "see their manager" about the trade in value on yours.  Because they don't trust any customer, and will always check a car's history before they take it in.

Some big dealers will try to sell you logbook fraud insurance, insurance against it being a previous insurance write-off, etc. It's all codswallop, they check 'em out for a few quid each, can get insurance on those reports being inaccurate for a few quid extra, then try and get you to pony up hundreds of quid for that peace of mind.  If they try that one on, just put on a shocked look and say "Oh! So some of those cars out there could be stolen or written off and you don't know!  I'll leave it then, thanks for warning me about that!"  Start fiddling with your phone and casually mention you're going to put a post on facebook about it to all your friends.

Then put your best poker face on and watch a used car salesman turn white and hurriedly back pedal at light speed.😈

At this point when you've got 'em on the ropes ask 'em to prove it's a good un by showing you the independent checks they've had done (at their expense).
