245 / 245 Challenge

Featured Replies

Probably a stupid question,  but whats the difference between the 245 and the challenge 245?

Thanks in advance

Which car do you mean by 245? The 'Launch Edition' 245 or the standard vRS you can buy now, with 245PS?

Assuming you're looking at the difference between two cars you can order brand new, the Challenge gets the following as standard, over the regular vRS:

DCC

19" Xtrem Alloys

Black Pack (grille, mirrors, tailpipes etc.)

Electric Driver Memory Heated Alcantara seats

Power Mirrors

Sports Gauges on infotainment

Parking Sensors (I think)

The 'Launch Edition 245', which was only called a vRS 245 when it appeared, gets all that too, bar the DCC.

.............................and a lap timer

The challenge model is almost the same as the original 245 version but  £2.5K more money

DCC wasn't standard on the original 245

Doesn't the challenge model get keyless entry/start as well ? not something I'd want from a security point of  view

From UK brochure

Note - when it says parking sensors it means it adds front sensors (vrs has rear sensors as standard).

Mine's coming later this year, as you say I'm not really that keen on Kessy but I think there's a mod to stop Kessy unlock - so have to use fob to unlock but rest of Kessy functionality is intact (locking and start/stop)

Poor old fool, is your memory going ?

Don't the new carS also come with the GPF ?

Yes, though that's every TSI vRS after the launch edition 245, not a difference between a current vRS and vRS Challenge.

Thats making the assumption someone wants to nick it.  I think thieves are going to be targeting top end BM's, Mercs, Audis etc ..... not really Skodas.

If people are massively concerned with Keyless go systems then The Ghost immobilisers are probably a good idea for piece of mind.

If you lock the car with the key fob and then touch the sensor on the door handle to Lock it again it will not open by touching the door handle, you need to unlock it with the key fob.

Good PCP offer on Simpson’s Skoda at the moment for stock Vrs £349 down and 48 x £349 per month including 2 services I think.

They have a lease offer for the challenge edition too. Noticed these when looking the other day.
