Brake caliper for my Mk1 4x4

Featured Replies

Hey there.

This is my first post as I'm new here. I have a 2002 Octavia 1.8t 4x4 kombi and I'm looking to redo my brakes soon as the calipers are buggered.

My question is are there any options to upgrade? Do Mk1 VRS brake discs and calipers fit a 4x4 kombi assuming I've got the wheel clearance?

Or perhaps it's possible to fit brakes from newer Octavias. I'm looking to do this on the cheap, preferably get VRS calipers from the junkyard and refresh them.

Let me know what kind of brakes you have on your cars.

Cheers, G machine

@G_machine - I'm not sure. If you have 16" wheels, and front DS3 calipers (cast into the caliper body)  all you actually need to change are the caliper carriers (get vRS ones)  discs from 288mm to 312mm and new pads, plus new seals on your existing calipers.
