Few problems with O1 1.6

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,i have few problems with my '98 1.6 GLX Octavia,AKL engine,120000km,LPG installed year ago at 103000 km:

1.car seems very lazy on acceleration up to 3k rpm both on gas and lpg.when i got the car o2 sensor was bad and i replaced it with desno universal o2 sensor and reading on vag-com seems ok.also maf sensor reading on vag-com seems fine.sometimes it shows fault codes 00537 19-10(Labbda regulation-lower limit-intermittent,when engine is not running vag com shows 1.5v voltage,when engine is started after 10-15 seconds voltage drops below 1v and shows 0,1-0,9v),00557 29-10(pressure switch power steering-short to ground-intermittent) and 00533 19-10(idle speed regulation-lower limit-intermittent).cts reading on vag-com seems fine.also sometimes when it's cold outside (below 5C) engine stalls few seconds after cold start,and after i start engine again it runs fine.throttle body is cleaned and adapted,oil breather pipe is broken but hole on intake pipe is blocked(too expensive XD) and i culdn't find any vacuum leak either there and on intake manifold(sprayed with brake cleaner)...i'll attach vag-com log if someone can look at it to see if maf sensor readings are ok.

2.few months ago i swaped crappy DUU gearbox with 02J cable operated gearbox and now speedo reads about 20km/h lower speed than before according to gps(previous reading was 10km/h higher than gps,now it's 10km/h lower)i tried to recode instrument cluster reading instructions on ross-tech site for facelift clusters but it doesn't work bc my cluster is pre-facelift,and there are no instructions for pre-fl cluster...does anyone have coding for older cluster?

3.Passenger door lock(front right,LHD car) is not working properly,when i lock doors either on drivers door with key or via remote,all doors lock but passenger doors lock,unlock and sometimes lock again,but sometimes stays unlocked,and when i unlock the car passenger doors unlocks but lock knob goes all up then a bit down and doors cannot be open from outside unless i pull door handle from inside.door lock mechanism was swapped with another from my donor car and it was working properly on donor car.any solution for this?

  1. Your O2 readings look wrong; Try a genuine sensor rather than a universal.
  2. I don't have a list of gearbox codes to hand, but could you have fitted a box with a different final drive?
  3. I'd suspect this is an electrical problem, probably either broken wiring in one of the rubber bellows connecting the A post to the door, or corrosion in the multiplug (It would be driver's door on a right hand drive car;  I don't know which door it's in on LHD).

1. o2 readings from vag-com log?

2. yes,final drive is different,but speed sensor reads speed from diff,and no matter what diff ratio is,diff always rotates at same speed as wheels...

@O1GLXCRO

  1. "incorrect for a healthy sensor wrong", not misquoted.
  2. And did/do both cars have the same tyre rolling radius? The only thing that's been changed is the transaxle, so the reason for the speed calibration change must be in there too.
