Steering wheel buttons issue?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a 2016 mk3 which I'm loving but I can't seem to use the forward button > on the steering wheel for navigating music tracks etc. The back < button does work. Is this a common issue? Your thoughts and experiences gratefully received.

Just going from memory, I think there was a dealer bulletin on this. There was a replacement kit issued to dealers to fix the problem. Someone with more knowledge may be able to confirm or correct what I'm saying.

Thanks. May be worth me going back to the dealer then on this. The car is from the Skoda dealership.

You should have a warranty so either way your dealer will fix it. Good luck.

Thanks. It's outside the 3 year warranty and I don't think the subsequent 6 month warranty would cover this as you accept "defects may be present consistent with it's age and condition". It is in excellent condition 25k and otherwise seems faultless. I think I will pop in and see what they say though.

Estate Man 1st reply, that dealers were issued as a kit. It is a known fault so take the car in.

Face to face is better than an easily spurned phone call.

Cheers. I will give it a go.

Yep. They will look at it repair or replace absolutely no hassle. Can't fault the service here.

That's excellent news. Let us know how it goes!

All done. Fantastic service! Hopefully these new buttons last more than 3 years. Also found out Smartlink is activated on this car even though I was told it wasn't. Happy days ☺
