Immobilised !!!

Featured Replies

Dear fellow Skoda devoties,  I currently have an Octavia Mk1 2000 1U5 Combi which has developed a fault with the immobiliser and will accept reprogramming by the local Skoda main dealer.  I have had the engine ecu "Immo'd OFF" but this still hasn't worked.  Can anyone send some suggestions my way please???????

The engine ecu is only one part of the immobiliser system. The key transponder will validate against the immo control unit in the dash cluster.

Need the fault code.

Thankyou Techle, if i was to be able to match a key to the replacement instrument cluster do you think it would all work again?

On one of my non Skoda cars round the ignition lock is a ring, which communicates with the transponder on the key.

the handbook for that car suggests to hold the transponder end of the key against the transponder receiving ring for 5 seconds , then put the key in and start engine.

might be a long shot but if all else fails....

Depends on what’s wrong with it.
