vehicle id ( parts ID ) sticker post.

Featured Replies

I've stuck this in here to ask anyone save admin from post overload. Long time ago we had a post detailing the options fitted to cars, and I put mine ( small as they were) up on a post. I now need the paint code . Easy says folks- on boot lid, but that one is suffering from old age. Service book - I had one, bit over the years it's goneΒ  into the house and it's in a safe place. I keep all the receipts for work done but at 15 year old and at 105k apart from cambelt change and oil change info the rest is not useful.

Reason for paint code- some Berlingo driver has problems with right and left whilst reversing. Result one creased wing. He at least had decency to let me know, but at 15yr old( car not me or other driver) I'm trying to avoid the insurance problems and as other driver is willing to pay get a reasonable job done at a not sky high price.

In which context, the first and last time I wanted touch up paint the Skoda dealer (Glasgow Henry's North, then still in Hyndland) checked the chassis number.

Is the sticker not in the spare tyre well not on the boot lid?

I am very sure a VIN decode will give the paint code..

Is it any of these which I posted in the MkI Fabia guides section 6 and a half years ago?

It is.

@Lee01Β Is it not then?

It is my first port of call to look at before writing down the VIN and i was a car sprayer, but i do not know VWD's car.

It is in the wheel well, yeah. OP needs to lift the carpet and have a butchers. Dunno how it's suffering from old age (the sticker ;)Β ) Mine was still readable and fine after 13 years.

Sorry ,folks, not boot lid, but in boot, between boot carpet and lid over spare wheel( mine does have a spare). But the sticker is not readable. ( 15 years, a bit older than 13). Service book is ,"in a safe place",( put there by Swimbo), so that won't be found easily.Β  I remember adding to the vehicle ID post some time ago, and hoped that someone could point me there.

lee- most cars have little use on the rear boot area. Mine has had a mobility scooter in & and out of there on a twice daily basis for the last six years. So makers carpet had has a lot of extra movement over the past few years.

Skoffski- it's ( as per V5), a silver Fabia hatch Comfort, 1.4TDi.Β  Sprayer reckons he knows the colour, but I've had problems before. I once had a MiniΒ  suffer wing damage after a steering box failure ( van was only 18 months old), and new wing fitted and sprayed to vehicle data, to find that colour was wrong. The data is on the post- all I've got to do is find the post .

Surely if it is a silver, 15 y o , Fabia, it will be Diamond Silver, as that was the only silver used across all model ranges at that time.

Body shop quotes another silver. And as Ii can't read the plate, and the service bookis "in a safe place", I'd thought that it would be simple to find the old posts in the forum and retrieve my post, without all the debate . Somewhere on that topic post is my reply giving the data from my boot sticker.

Mac- many thanks. PM replied to .

One option is pay for an hour on erWin and grab the build sheet using the VIN. Should be less than a tenner.

Its sorted, it is diamond silver 1B1B.

Glad i could help vwd :)

Told sprayer to day. He's happy to start on that . At least he's got a starting point to match a 15 year old paint. But from seeing work he's done on SIL bike, he's not keen to let work out that he's not hapy with.
