Has anybody tested the Manoeuvre Braking feature?

 

I tried a test today with a large cardboard box which covered the 2 centre sensors. The box was hit!

 

I expected the car to stop before the box was hit.

Did you reverse into it or drive forwards on to it?

Yes, I have.  And not deliberately either. Saved me hitting a bollard twice. Different bollards I should add.

I reversed into to it. 

 

I have read on the Superb forum that it could be speed dependant. I was moving very slowly. 

 

I watched a video on the Polo with it and the woman reversed at some speed.

Yes I tested it shortly after buying the car. I tried it by reversing up to the usual wooden fence where I park at home, keeping the car moving at around 2mph. When I would usually stop, I kept moving backwards slowly. It braked me okay before I touched the fence.  Don't really want to test it at any faster speed, just in case!

Yeah, that's why I tried it with a cardboard box. I'll have to give it a go at higher speeds.
