Interestingly on the RS, the IGNITE rims aren't shown yet.

I rather like the lettering. Seems to be the fashion. Though on a practical level if those letters are as sharp as the current ones that strip of bodywork will be a pain to dry with a microfiber cloth after a wash ..

Our new Karoq is going to have those. I'm not sure how I feel about the look to be honest, but we've not got a choice and I'm sure we'll get used to it. What I am pleased about is the new motion sensing Kessy keys, thats a positive step forward.

The advantage of the new badges, are that those who prefer the 'clean look' and choose to remove them, they aren't left with any recesses.

Removing the old/ current style dome badge on most Skoda's leaves you with a recess in which the badge sits.

Is this a 'Simply Clever' solution to delaminating Škoda boot badges?

I wonder how they'll attach the 'Škoda' lettering to the wheels!!

The answer to the delaminating of the older style green boot and bonnet badges was the move to the current black and chrome versions, these no longer delaminate. At least none that I've seen yet.

Unfortunately the same can't be said about the alloy wheel centre caps, these, whilst a little better, still suffer the whiteworm effect where water gets under the chrome-effect border...

Skoda aren't in a position to copy anything Volvo are producing at present, particularly with their SUV offerings.

Volvo are doing things better than any other mainstream manufacturer at the moment, IMHO and it's a blatant rip-off on Skoda's part.

FFS, I could wear a Hugh Jackman mask but Mrs P will still go to bed in full NBC gear,  armed with bear spray.

A matter of opinion. We have a Volvo XC40 and a Kodiaq. Both cost almost exactly the same amount. I prefer the Skodiaq by quite a margin. Anybody that thinks the DSG gearbox lacks refinement should not go near a Volvo.
