Skoda Citigo - Steering sensed crash and cannot clear

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’ve been finishing a Citigo Monte Carlo that had had a light front end collision. Airbags, front end carrier, rads, bumper bonnet all replaced an all codes cleared apart from the steering.

A friend cleared all codes down but wasn’t able to clear the steering one, apparently, car goes into crash mode.

Any ideas ?

I’ve heard about VCDS on the internet but don’t know who has this equipment.

Is this a dealer only fix ?

Are there only certain (Snap-On) diagnostic tools that can clear this down ???

Any help appreciated as the car is ready apart from this.

Thanks.

Paul

Does sound like you need to clear the crash signal with VCDS or similar level equipment.

In days of old the airbag ECU had to be replaced once crash data was stored but they changed that to bring down repair costs (and thus insurance groupings).

OK, if I understand correctly, VCDS is a non-VW system that some clever person has created....how do I get someone who has this then ?
