Hi,

My Octy vRS (2001) is due for its 45k service in about 2000 miles and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Elita Warranty? Only reason I ask is there are probably a few things I could get sorted under it....these are not in order of importance by the way

1) The paint on the rear spoiler is well faded (willgo down the T-Cut route eventually) due to the sun, surely Skoda have a guarantee on paint? 5 years maybe??

2) The drivers window has a intermittent fault where on one touch closure it jams and then goes back down, then one touch doesn't work again till the ignition is reset - just irritating not the end of the world....

3) Dirty MAF well its on its way out......

4) Lamda No.1 is mis reporting everynow and then so thats on the way out too....

5) The now legendary Mooing, is there a cure for this mad cow disease??

Any advice would be well appeciated, also I am in Berkshire so anyone who has experience of a friendly dealer would be great!

1) The paintwork has a SkodaAuto three year unlimited mileage warranty against defects.

2) The one touch problem is a common one which affects other VAG cars too.

I am looking at taking out an Elita Warranty this year in place of my current Warranty Direct one as the Elita cover is much better - but at a price. Looking at the cover provided, it does not cover the gradual reduction in operating performance (wear and tear) due to the age and mileage of the covered vehicle, nor the replacement of of such items as, but not limited to, spark plugs, plug leads, oils, filters and lubricants. I will be interested to hear whether or not MAFs and Lambda sensors are covered since they are both items which degrade with age.

I thought that might be the case regarding the Paintwork, ah well out with the T-Cut I guess

I will obviously post any findings I get from the dealer regarding the warranty.....I am always a little wary of extended warranty but we shall see if Skoda dealers can be a break from the norm....

arent all the paints on vrs's colour plus clearcoat? ,so t-cut will just remove the top clear coat, or are the red and yellow different to the silver and black paints

Do you have any suggestions on what i should use to get the colour back then? I am guessing anything abrasive wouldn't be good then......
